This post was also a newsletter, but it's the same... Meh.
Me and my friend Angel were thinking about starting a Cosplay club at our school, and we want to know who would be interested.
The reason Cosplay is different from just sewing is you have more freedom. You aren't confined to general patterns or normal materials. This club would probably meet once a week in a class room, and hopefully be able to use the sewing machines in Mrs. Sonstegard's class room. Plans have not been made, we're just seeing who would be interested first.
The things we would learn would be:
Sewing basics
Fabric types- What to use and what to avoid
Cosplay do's and don'ts
Crossplay
History of Cosplay
Resources you can use to get better
Basic pattern drafting and pattern modifying
Wig choosing and styling
Cosplay makeup
Basic things like that. We'll learn cosplay tips and materials you can use to make your costumes amazing.
Our projects will depend on who joins. I'm fairly certain that I want our last project to be some sort of Japanese clothing. This club will have fees, but only so we can buy things needed (like fabric and the like).
Please post here if you are interested or have ideas for us!
